[Class 64 (i)] In a reversible regenerator, to prevent leakage of gas through the damper 26 in the outlet flue of a gas chamber 21, the outlet flues of the gas and air chambers 21, 22 of each set are provided with a common damper 28, so that when the dampers 26 and 28 are closed and the gas and air valves 25, 27 are open, the gas pressure on one side of the damper 26 is balanced by the air pressure on the other side.
