140,507. Soc. Anon. de Commentry Fourchambault et Decazeville. Dec. 19,1917, [Convention date]. Alloys.-An iron alloy contains 20-25 per cent of nickel, 10-15 per cent of chromium, 1-2 per cent of manganese, and 0.2-0.5 per cent of carbon. In some cases, the nickel may be increased up to 40 per cent, producing alloys similar to those described in Specification 140,509. One or more other metals may be present as follows : 0.2-1 per cent of vanadium, 0.1-0.2 per cent of titanium, 2-5 per cent of tungsten, 1-3 per cent of molybdenum, and up to 10 per cent of cobalt. The alloys are specially applicable to chemical apparatus, centrifugal pumps, norias, worms, and other apparatus required to resist corrosion at high temperatures.
