Abstract
1351684 Coking oven battery SIMON-CARVES Ltd 21 July 1971 [25 Aug 1970] 34106/71 Heading F4B A coking oven battery whose chambers 11 alternate with heating walls divided into heating flues 18, 19 having rich gas burners with ports 20-23 at different levels above a heating flue sole 26, is characterized in that the gas burners are divided into two groups, the burners 21, 23 of one group being arranged at a higher level than those 20, 22 of the other group, and in that separate gas distribution pipes 34, 35 are provided to feed the burners, one for each group. According to whether pipe 34 or pipe 35 is at a high gas pressure, either the low burners 20, 22 or the high burners 21, 23 are charged more intensely. By changing the gas pressure in the pipes 34 or 35, it is therefore, possible to arrange the gas firing higher or lower in all the heating walls of the oven battery.
