Abstract

1,193,374. Coke ovens. KOPPERS CO. Inc. 25 Jan., 1968 [27 Jan., 1967], No. 4048/68. Heading F4B. In a horizontal coke oven having heating walls between adjacent coking chambers, each heating wall including two spaced-apart heating wall liners 79 separated by the walls defining vertical combustion flues 81a, 81a, each heating wall liner is constructed of at least two types of brick having different rates of heat transmission. Various arrangements of the two forms of brick can be disposed in the wall liners (see Fig. 3, not shown).
