Abstract

1357566 Coke ovens HEINRICH KOPPERS GmbH 17 Aug 1971 [30 Oct 1970] 38445/71 Heading F4B Apparatus for preheating the trunk flues and oven chamber of a regenerative coke oven battery, comprises a box structure 5 installed at each end of each oven chamber 1, and a box 14 installed in flue 13. The box structure 5 is made up of two sections 5a, 5b built up of panels of thermally insulating material. A burner 6 is installed in the lower part of a door 4 to eject a suitable fuel into the box 5 for combustion therein and the generation of hot gaseous combustion products which escape into the oven chamber 1 through the opposite end of the box and through apertures 8 in the upper wall 7. Similarly boxes 14 in the flue 13 receive burners 15, and hot combustion gases are delivered to flue 13.
