Abstract
491,278. Regenerators. WOODALLDUCKHAM (1920), Ltd., and KENT, A. T. Oct. 5, 1937, No. 26948. [Class 51 (i)] In a regenerative coke oven the division walls 5 between the regenerators 3 comprise spaced courses 6 of silica brick with one or more courses of semisilica brick or firebrick 7 between the silica brick courses. The lower parts of the walls may comprise firebrick courses arranged between courses of silica brick and the upper parts of the walls may comprise semi-silica brick courses arranged between silica brick courses. The top courses 8 of the walls adjacent the silica section of the oven structure may consist of semisilica brick and the bottom courses may consist of silica brick. The silica bricks are arranged as header courses and the firebrick or semi-silica brick courses are arranged as stretcher courses.
