[Class 51 (ii)] In a coke oven battery supporting pad provided with transverse expansion gaps 9 above alternate rows of edge supporting pillars 7, the pad sections are formed integrally with intermediate rows of pillars 8, outer pillars of which being free if desired. Depending rib portions 15 of the sections may fit into end recesses in the pillars. Specifications 474,331 and 507,576 are referred to.
