Abstract

1,270,598. Shuttleless looms. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES DE MULHOUSE. 2 Dec., 1969 [3 Dec., 1968], No. 58715/69. Heading DIE. Gripper jaws 11, 12, of a weft receiving needle 1 are opened by contact during retraction of the needle of a cam 42 on the jaw 12 with an abutment 43 and held open by a spring-loaded recessed member 21 engaging over the tail of the jaw, which member is arrested, having inward movement of the needle, to allow the jaws to close by engagement of the end 29 of a bolt 27 with a stop 28. The abutment 43 is carried by a pivoted arm 45 resiliently held against a stop 47, whereby the arm pivots under the action of cam 42 when the needle moves inwards. The stop 28 is held in an adjustable position by set screws 39. Rod 27 is attached to the member 21 and guided by apertured members 25, 33 in the needle 1.
