Abstract
125,962. Soc. Anon. du Carburateur Fill. June 17, 1916, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Scct. 91 of the Act]. Spray carburettors.-The nozzle 3 has an axial fuel passage 3<2> delivering into the choke tube 2, and a radial passage 3<1>, at any suitable angle thereto but preferably 90 degrees, delivering into a chamber 4 which communicates through a passage 5 with the induction pipe on the engine side of the throttle valve 6. When the throttle is closed or nearly closed, fuel issues through passage 3<1> together with air drawn downwardly through the axial passage 3<2>, and the mixture is drawn along passage 5 to the engine. A supplementary supply of air is admitted through a hollow screw 7 in the flange 8. As the throttle is opened, fuel issues from the passage 3<2>, the flow however being prevented frcm being excessive by air drawn through the passage 5. The float valve 16, Fig. 3, is opened by a finger 14 on the float 13 striking a part 15 which carries the valve. In a modification, the valve has a conical head and a hollow stem which carries a deflecting cap for the fuel. The float-chamber cover 10 is secured by a fixed pin 11 and a slidable spring- loaded pin 12.
