Abstract

159,439. Hunter, G. F. May 15, 1920. Spray carburettors.- Air enters at c<1> and passes downwardly over a fuel nozzle b surrounded by a choke tube d which controls the mixture outlet e. The choke tube has preferably a conical bore increasing in diameter downwardly, and the nozzle b is of oppositely coned external shape. The fuel is controlled by a needle valve f, and issues through an orifice f<1> into a cup b<6>, and thence through radial-outlets b<1>. A pilot jet is provided at g. The choke tube and needle valve are manually actuated. The outlet passage e may be elongated horizontally in order to reduce its vertical height and therefore the height of the carburettor.
