Abstract
1,245,001. Boxes. DANSK STYROPACK A.S. 20 Sept., 1968 [22 Sept., 1967], No. 44863/68. Heading B8P. A box of expanded plastics, e.g. polystyrene, has at least two of its side walls 12 formed with flat top surfaces 16 outwardly and downwardly inclined at an angle α between 95-115 degrees with respect to a line perpendicular to the box base, a lid (24), Fig. 1 (not shown), having similarly inclined surfaces (30) around its lower peripheral edges. Bowing outwards of the side walls 12 when a number of like boxes are stacked is thus prevented. The bottom 15 of the box has corresponding outwardly and downwardly inclined surfaces 22 so that like boxes may be stacked without separate lids, the bottoms of the upper boxes acting as lids. The upper peripheral faces of the lid (24) have similar outwardly and downwardly directed surfaces (34) for engagement by the surfaces 22 around the box bottom when lidded boxes are stacked. The box bottom 15 has drain holes 36. Handle recesses 38 are provided.
