Abstract

1291210 Nesting and stacking boxes INDUSTRIELE ONDERNEMING WAVIN NV 19 April 1971 [7 April 1970] 26028/71 Heading B8P A box, which may be of polypropylene, is rectangular in cross-section and has an outwardly directed upper rim of square form to facilitate placing boxes side by side. Recesses 11 in the rim provide for lifting a box from adjacent boxes or a wall. The rim may also be recessed on its upper surface to locate the base of a box stacked cross-wise thereon. The sides and base are provided with slits and the base may be recessed inwardly (20, Fig. 2, not shown). Ribs 22, 23 on the supporting surface 13 of the rim are engaged by a rib 24 on the underside of a stacked box. The four sides have tapered inwardly directed embossments 18, 19 which forms a reinforcement, a guide during nesting, and ensures easy disengagement of nested boxes. A recess 21, Fig. 1, in the lower edge of the rim facilitates grasping the boxes by their shorter sides.
