Abstract

The stackable box-type container is of foam plastic or similar material, with four upright walls. The base is flat on the underside, and the walls have at the centre of their top edges protruding bosses, while in the centre of their bottom edges are recesses of corresponding height. Thus when stacking the bosses on the lower box fit in the recesses in the one above. The recesses can be shaped to form hand grips. The design is particularly for boxes containing foodstuffs, and has the advantage over existing designs where the bosses protrude from the box underside, of avoiding distortion of the lowermost box in the stack.
