Abstract

1,091,429. Bottle crates. T. BOX. March 18 1966 [March 22, 1965], No. 12103/66. Heading B8P. A crate, preferably of moulded plastics, has on its external bottom surfaces areas or recesses for engaging the tops of bottles in an underlying crate, and integral ribs extending radially out wardly from the periphery of each area or recess the inner end portion of each rib adjoining the peripheries sloping towards the base, so that as a crate is pulled horizontally from the under lying crate the tops of the bottles cam with the sloping portions of the ribs to lift the upper crate slightly and prevent damage. Empty crates may be stacked with an inwardly spacec ridge on the bottom wall of a crate nesting within the top edge of a similar crate.
