Abstract

1,182,452. Bottle crates. LENOX-PLASTIK G.m.b.H. & CO., K.G. 14 Feb., 1967 [15 Feb., 1966; 26 May, 1966], No. 6911/67. Heading B8P. A one-piece moulded plastics bottle crate has compartments defined by dividing walls 2, and dome-shaped guides 4 at the intersections of the dividing walls, vertical supports 6 extending down from the guides being integral with separate compartment bottom panels 7. The outer rows of bottle compartments have their bottom panels 7 integral with the outer case wall 32. Each bottom panel 7 has a hole 24 in a raised ring 20 surrounded by a flange 15, the hole 24 allowing drainage of condensation, &c. Each bottom panel 7 is also formed with small holes 33. The crate may have bowed wall surfaces and perforations, the raised rings 20 may be slightly eccentric with respect to their bottle compartments, and the underneath of the case may be formed with transverse studs, strips or teeth 34, 35 to prevent slipping. The crate may be stacked on another like crate filled with bottles, the bottle necks engaging the bottom of the superposed crate. The construction is such as to allow some resilience in the crate parts.
