Abstract

1,194,020. Magnetrons. BOWMAR/TIC Inc. 17 Nov., 1967 [21 Nov., 1966], No. 47823/68. Divided out of 1,194,019. Heading H1D. A strapped-vane multi-cavity magnetron has polysided straps 116, 118 secured respectively at their corners and sides to alternate vanes 110, the grooves 114 provided in the vanes being all located in similar positions and having straight parallel sides and V-shaped bottoms to ensure strap clearance. The magnetron polepieces 90 have rounded inner faces as shown, the lower polepiece enclosing the exhaust tube 96 and the upper polepiece the cathode and heater connections 146, 158. The power supply is isolated from the anode block by element 172 which constitutes with the surrounding surfaces a high-frequency coaxialline choke. The ends of the permanent magnet 94 engage flat faces on slidable magnetic sleeves 92 mounted on the polepieces 96.
