Abstract

1,003,958. Magnetrons. S-F-D. LABORATORIES Inc. April 24, 1962 [April 26, 1961], No. 15577/62. Heading H1D. A coaxial cavity-type magnetron comprises anode vanes 26 each having a height at its base less than the height of its free end portion. A lossy member 33, e.g. carbon-impregnated alumina or beryllia, is mounted a small distance from a heat sink member 25 and on heating expands into contact with the sink member. A magnetic pole-piece assembly 4, 22, 23 has parts 22 and 23 joined by the removable pins 24 and thus facilitates dis- and re-assembly by dismantling the joints 5-6 and 12-13 and thus obviates making the seal 11 internally. The anode structure is cooled by fluid circulating in the channels 45, and the cathode by fluid flowing between the members 10-15 and 15-12. Specification 1,003,959 is referred to.
