Abstract

1,066,646. Magnetrons. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 14, 1964 [July 17, 1963], No. 28949/64. Heading H1D. [Also in Division G3] A multi-cavity magnetron 26 has an electromagnet 6 coaxial with the tube and within a surrounding permanent magnet system 30, 31. Yokes 31 and the electromagnet core 32 connect four permanent magnets 30 with the magnetron polepieces 28. A control circuit for stabilizing the direct current drawn by the magnetron (see Division G3) supplies the energizing current of the electromagnet and an auxiliary control circuit is provided for supplying an initial energizing current to the electromagnet when the magnetron is first switched on.
