Abstract

1,186,220. Circulators. R.C.A. CORPORATION. 18 Dec., 1967 [19 Dec., 1966], No. 57355/67. Heading H1W. A circulator comprises a single element 30 of e.g., ferrite or ferromagnetic garnet supporting and interposed between strip lines 25, 26, 27 and a single ground plane (not shown). The lines, which may be three in number, radiate from a central disc 29 in the vicinity of which the electric field is concentrated. They are connected to the inner conductors of three coaxial sockets supported by plates 21, 22, 23. The magnetic bias field is supplied by an external permanent magnet or by a current loop embedded in the element 30.
