Abstract

1,075,553. Cartons. REED PAPER GROUP Ltd. May 25, 1966 [Aug. 12, 1965], No. 34574/65. Heading B8P. A tray-like carton of corrugated board, &c., is held erect by the engagement of inwardly foldable strips 14, linking side wall panels 6, 7 to end flaps 10 hinged at each end thereof, with locking flaps 21 hinged to the end wall panels, only one of which is shown at 8. The strips 14 are formed by parallel pairs of cuts across the fold lines 11 between the side wall panels 6, 7 and end flaps 10, in which case the entire carton is formed from a single blank. Alternatively separate foldable strips may be secured to the side wall panels 6, 7 and end flaps 10. The locking flaps 21 are formed by notches 20 cut into a flap 17 hinged to each end wall panel, but separate locking flaps, one at each corner of the carton and hinged to the end wall panels, may alternatively be provided. The carton may be closed by a similarly formed lid, or a lid of any other suitable form.
