Abstract

952,014. Cartons. PONTEFRACT BOX CO. Ltd. Jan. 21, 1963 [April 26, 1962], No. 16002/62. Heading B8P. A partitioned box constructed from a single blank has a longitudinal partition formed by gluing face-to-face two tongues 6, Fig. 5, each upstanding from a corresponding rectangular bottom panel 5 hinged to a side panel 3a. The box also has transverse partitions formed, in the construction illustrated, by tongues 8 which project upwardly from panels 7 which are folded from the position of Fig. 5 to rest on the bottom panels 5. In Fig. 3 the blank is shown partly folded with the side and end panels 3a, 4a lying against the panels 5, 7. A tongue 11 is subsequently glued to the part of the side panel 3a exposed by a cut-away 12. The upper parts 13 of the sides are turned over horizontally after the carton is erected to form an inwardly projecting edge. Alternatively one edge may have an integral lid portion which has a flap portion slotted at the corners for engagement with slits cut in the side of the carton.
