Abstract

1,120,863. Cartons. TILLOTSONS (LIVERPOOL) Ltd. 31 Aug., 1965 [2 Sept., 1964], No. 35861/64. Heading B8P. A cardboard blank for a collapsible carton comprises diagonally hinged gussets 23, 24, a base panel 10 to which outer wall panels 11, 13 are hinged, inner wall panels 12, 14, hinging on the outer wall panels and flaps 15. Adhesive 32 is applied to the panels 11, the gussets 23, 24 and extension flaps 25 and also to the panels 12, so that when the panels 12 are glued to the panels 11, the flaps 15 cover the glued portion 23 of the gussets, whilst the portions 24 defined by a diagonal crease line 18 and a cut 20 are glued to the panels 13. Tabs 29 are inserted into cut-outs 28 to hold the panels 14 in position. The extension flaps 25 are glued to the panels 14 to strengthen the carton and facilitate stacking.
