Abstract

1501764 Cartons AKERLUND & RAUSING AB 16 Oct 1975 [27 Feb 1975] 42468/75 Heading B8P A cardboard blank as shown in Fig. 1 is erected with gussets 6 at each corner and reinforcing flanges 8, 9 on flanges 10 extending from at least two opposite walls 2, 4. The flanges 8, 9 are folded down and heat-sealed to flanges 10 as shown in Fig. 5 so that no cut edge is in contact with the contents of the carton and the fold projecting inwardly of the carton top engages a portion 15 of a lid 14. A flange 13 on the lid may be heat-sealed or glued to flange 8. The lid may be vacuum formed from thermoplastic foil. Specification 1,500,304 is referred to.
