Abstract

1313095 Refuse bins T S ROSS JNR 2 April 1970 [4 April 1969 19 March 1970] 52227/71 Divided out of 1313094 Heading A4A [Also in Division B8] An inner container for a waste bin described in the parent Specification 1313094 is made from a single piece of paper board 70 and comprises a box of rectangular cross-section having first and second end walls 74, 76 joined to front and back walls 78, 80 bottom closure flaps 112, 116 attached to one side of the front and back walls, first and second wall-reinforcing flaps 120, 126 each being attached to bottom closure flap 116 and overlying end walls 74, 76 the bottom closure flaps 112, 116 each being joined at one side to one of the front and back walls, first, second, third and fourth top closure flaps 96, 98, 160, 164 being attached to each other, one pair of opposed top closure flaps 160, 164 being provided with hand holes 140, 150 and with a pair of slots 142, 152 extending inwardly from the edge and positioned within corner portions 158, 162 of the respective flap and each of the other pair of top closure flaps 96, 98 being adapted for bending inwardly and downwardly to close the top of the container, with the corner portions folding inwardly and downwardly to accommodate the bending, the corner portions of each flap overlapping each other whereby the slats align with the hand holes and the overlapping corner portions provide additional reinforcing layers at the hand holes. The shaded areas are coated with glue, preferably an impact adhesive.
