Abstract

1495268 Cartons FIELD SONS & CO Ltd 30 Jan 1975 [23 March 1974] 13016/74 Heading B8P A collapsible carton is formed with side walls 10-16 joined at fold lines 18-22, 68, the walls 10-16 being inwardly folded along at least part of their height to define two tubular members 82, 84. The inward folding may be at curved lines 26, the tubular members 82, 84 having cut-out profiles, e.g. for supporting an Easter egg, and tabs 64, 66 may be glued to the walls 16, 14 respectively, Fig. 4 (not shown), to unite the tubular members 82, 84. The lower end of the carton may be closed by folding panels 48, 52 inwardly and adhering respective panels 46, 52 to them, glue being applied only at areas 78, 80 at the other side of diagonal fold lines 56 from a fold line 54, so that the end closures may be collapsed inwardly of the tubular members 82, 84. The upper end may be closed by engagement of flaps 30 in a composite slot formed by slots 44 in further flaps 34. Alternatively, Figs. 5 and 7, the tubular members may extend the full height of the carton, upper and lower closure flaps 134, 154, 182 being provided.
