Abstract

970,430. Cartons. WEYERHAEUSER CO. April 5, 1962 [April 19, 1961], No. 13157/62. Heading B8P. A carton comprises a platform 26 apertured as at 80 to retain and display one or more articles and is preferably formed from a single blank as shown in Fig. 1. To erect the carton, an adhesively coated panel 25 is stuck to front wall 24 and the undersurface of a flap 27 on platform 26 is stuck to rear wall 22. For storage and transport the blank is folded along lines 34 and 32. Side flaps 70 on the platform are folded downwardly thereby raising tabs 41 to form slots 42 and gusset folds 69 are constrained to lie between the side flaps 70 and side walls 61 when the latter and the rear and front walls 22, 24 are folded upwardly. The carton is held erect by folding inwardly side wall extensions 62 so that tongues 64 thereon may enter the slots 42. A cover 21 hinged to the rear wall has front and side flaps 20, 50 respectively which lie within the front and side walls of the carton when closed.
