Abstract

798,068. Cartons. BRITANNIA FOLDING BOX CO., Ltd. Oct. 10, 1956 [Nov. 9, 1955], No. 32070/55. Class 18. Rearwardly directed tabs 13 on the side walls 12 of a bandbox take in recesses 14 in the rear wall 2 when the box is erected and in slits 15a in the rear edge of the base 6 when the box is folded. The bandbox is formed from a blank 1, Fig. 1, creased to define the rear wall 2 and side walls 3 provided with flaps 16 along their upper edges, and a blank 4, Fig. 2, creased to define a front wall 5, a base panel 6, an intermediate panel 7, a lid 8 and a flap 9. There are extensions 10 along the side edges of the front wall 5 attached to the adjacent ends of side walls 3 by stitching 11 (see Fig. 5). The tabs 13 maintain the side walls upright. The lid may be provided with a continuous crease 18 and slit 17, so that when folded about itself upon crease 18, a cut-out portion stands up as a display panel, see Fig. 5.
