Abstract
251,056. Creasey, B. J. Feb. 28, 1925. Boxes formed from special blanks and combined with supports and means for displaying advertisements &c.-A display box is provided with a lid 28 and a strut 33 for supporting the box in an inclined position formed from the same blank and hinged to the rear wall of the box so that in the closed position they are locked together in substantially parallel relation and in the display position the lid can be set upright to display a cut-out portion, the strut being then folded down behind the box to form a substantially upright support for tilting the box. The box is preferably formed from three blanks, one forming a tray-like container to which is secured the second blank, which has panels constituting an additional front wall and additional side walls. The third blank, Fig. 3, comprises the lid and strut and panels 30, 31 by which the lid and strut are hingedly secured to the rear wall of the box. The lid portion of the blank is creased at 19 and cut at 24 to provide a set-up portion 34 and has a flap 27 which engages between the two front walls to secure the lid in the closed position, and the strut portion, which is creased at 23 to form panels 32, 33 which are secured together by adhesive &c. when used for supporting the box, is provided with a slit 26 in which the portion 34 of the lid engages to secure the lid and strut together when the box is closed.
