Abstract

234,767. Anschell, S. C. May 31, 1924, [Convention date]. Folding boxes combined with means for displaying advertisements.-A collapsable cardboard or like box, which may be formed from a single blank, is provided with an element for displaying advertisements &c. comprising a principal panel 15 and side panels 29 having tongues 31 which engage slots 32 in the walls of the box to support the display element in its erect position. The principal panel 15, which may have an area twice that of the open top of the container, is creased so as to form when folded the lid or closure of the box, the crease 33 extending also across both side panels 29. The box body is held erect by interlocking flaps 12, 17 on the front and rear walls 10, 14, extension flaps 27, 28 adapted to enclose the flaps 12, 17 and to be locked by tongues 37 formed in the bottom of the box being provided on the end walls 22. Portions of the cardboard &c. are cut away at the corners 35 to present tearing of the material along the hinge lines 30, 34.
