Abstract

449,968. Boxes or cartons. HUNT, D. A., Dovedale, Maxim Road, Grange Park, London. Feb. 21, 1935, No. 5643. [Classes 18 and 66] The upper end of a box or carton formed from a single blank is closed, after filling, by folding over flaps 5, then flap 6 (tucking in flange 7), and finally flap 8, this being secured to the flap 6 by adhesive, stapling, or the like between its outer edge and a tear out strip 10 defined by scored or perforated lines 9. The box can be unsealed by tearing out the strip 10, and subsequently reclosed by flaps 5 and 6 alone, the portion 8<1> of flap 8 being also tucked in to coact with the flange 7 if desired. The strip 10 preferably has a tab 11 cut from the adjacent flap 5. The flaps 5 may be releasably interlocked together. The lower end of the box may be similarly constructed or may be closed in any convenient manner, as by flaps 3, 4.
