Abstract

965,219. Cartons. REED PAPER GROUP. March 14, 1961 [March 24, 1960], No. 10507/60. Heading B8P. A carton, which may be formed of double faced corrugated board, has ventilation holes or slots and on one or more sides at least one projecting tab which spaces the carton from adjacent cartons when stacked side-by-side. The blank is folded to bring the sides 14, 24 into tubular relation and flaps 15, 16, 22, 23 are folded to form the top and bottom of the carton. Tabs 8, 9, 25 cut from the side walls project outwardly when the top and bottom flaps are folded down. Openings 13 formed by the tabs provide additional ventilation. The flaps 22, 23 may have projections 21 which overlap the tabs 8, 9 and are tucked into the openings 13. Staples secure the projections 21 to the tabs thereby securing the flaps 15, 16, 22, 23 in the closed position.
