Abstract

800,423. Cartons. REED CORRUGATED GASES, Ltd. Oct. 12, 1955 [Oct. 26, 1954], No. 30923/54. Class 18. A carton has flaps on one pair of sides which extend along the interior of the other pair of sides to form therewith pockets for flanges on the lid. In one embodiment, Figs. 1, 2, flaps 9 form with side walls 5, 6, pockets for lid flanges 19. Tabs 12 are stapled to the end walls 7, 8. In another embodiment side walls 24, 25 each carry a closure flap 31 having tabs at either end which fit into pockets formed by flaps 32 and end walls 27, 28, the flaps 32 being stapled to the end walls adjacent the comers. Cuts 46 and scores 47, 48 may be provided to permit collapsing without disjointing. Ventilation holes 17 or 38 may be provided. The cut-outs forming the holes 38 and the tabs on the closures 31 may be only partially severed, as shown, for ease of handling the blank. A transverse central partition having flaps together extending the entire length of the sides may be fitted.
