A subdivided box e.g. a chick box has side walls 2, 3 with extensions 8a, 8b, 8c which form part of the internal structure when the box is erected. The box is assembled by bending up the side walls 2, 3 and end walls 4, bending extensions 8a inside and parallel with the end walls 4 and then bending over extensions 9, 10 to engage tongues 12 in slots. 11, the extensions 9 overlying the extensions 8a. The extensions 8b, 8c are positioned as shown in Fig. 3 and interlock with a separate member having extensions 14 attached to a partition wall 13. A lid 5 has bent down rims 6, 7 with extensions 6a, 7a respectively, the former lying parallel with the rims 7 and being overlaid by the latter which are inwardly folded so that tongues 21 project through slots 22. Further tongues 19, 20 cut out of the lid 5 project upwardly on folding the blank and together with the tongues 21 space the boxes when stacked. Notches 18 provide a ventilation path via holes 17 in the side and end walls. Fig. 7 shows an alternative lid 24 which protrudes over the edges of the box and is hinged integral with one side wall 25. Fig. 9 which is a section on the line IX-IX of Fig. 7 shows a protruding part of the lid 25, 27 and the formation of a tongue 28 which is an extension on the side wall 25 and a tongue 29 bent up from the lid and forming an opening 30. Tongues 38 on the side walls 37 project through openings 39 formed by bending up tongues 40 from the lid and are notched to engage the lid. Tongues 33, 34 are similar to tongues 38, 39 respectively but the former derive from the extension on the lid.
