603,989. Boxes. PEACOCK, A. M. Nov. 20, 1945, No. 31159. [Class 18] A collapsable cardboard box of tray-like form made from a single blank has each end wall consisting of three flaps 3, 5, 6, one connected to the bottom 1, and one to each of the side walls 2, the flaps being locked together by tongue and slot connection. Flaps 4 can be secured to the sides 2 with adhesive on assembly to form double thicknesses. Flaps 7 connected to the ends 3 have tongues 8, 9 which engage the end flaps 5, 6, and the cut-outs 10 or slits provided in the flaps 5, 6. A lid may be formed from a single blank having a top 11; double-thickness sides 12, 14, and treble-thickness endwalls 13, 18, 20, the flaps 18 being extensions of the sides 12. Short flaps 19 extending from the sides 14 stiffen the corners. Both sides and ends have extensions 15, 21, which lie flat against the inside of the top 11, the corners of these extensions being cut-away at 16, 17, 22, 23, to interlock with each other. The sides 12, 14, may be secured together with adhesive.
