A cardboard carton having sides 2, 3, 6, 7, folded up from a base 1 has extensions 10 on two opposite sides folded to lie on the outside of the remaining two sides and has locking tabs 11 engaged in slits in the remaining two sides. The tabs are of dovetail shape and the slits each comprise two horizontal cuts 12, 13 joined by a vertical cut. A lid 17 having side flaps 19, 20 may be provided.
