A divider blank for forming article positioning recesses has ribs 21-25 separated from the remainder of the blank by cuts 26 and fold lines 27 and 29, fold lines 30 in the ribs 25 and further fold lines 28 which divide the portions between the ribs into sections 50 and 51. The transverse ribs 25 may be staggered. To erect the blank the side ribs 21 and 22 are folded over on top of the remainder of the blank along the fold lines 29 so that tabs 32 provided on the ribs 21 are sealed to ends 53 of the ribs 24 and 25 by adhesive 33, and each inner panel section 50 and each section 53 is folded downwardly about fold lines 27 and 30, as shown in Fig. 2. To avoid the use of the adhesive 33, the ribs 21 may be of width equal to the height of the sections 53 and have slits therein defining tabs 47 which engage between the sections 53. In a modification the blank has protective tabs 60, as in Fig. 14, defined by cuts 26e and 26d and fold lines 45. In a further modification, shown in Fig. 17, the ribs 24 and 25 are divided into sections 57 and 58 by fold lines. The fold lines may be defined by a single score, perforations or spaced slits. The side ribs may be extended so that their edge portions may be folded inwardly to facilitate stacking. The divider means may either be self-sustaining or may be inserted ina box.
