Abstract

1,075,037. Blanks for trays; shrink packaging. HUGH STEVENSON & SONS Ltd. April 21, 1966 [May 17, 1965], No. 20760/65. Headings B8C and B8P. A blank for a tray of cardboard, &c., includes side panels 2 hinged to a base 1, and corner panels 3 hinged to the adjacent side panels 2 by fold lines 5, but separated from the base 1 by cuts 6. Further cuts 7 enable the corner panels 3 to be folded outwardly and upwardly about the lines 5 when the side panels 2 are raised to form the tray, thereby forming rounded corners for the tray, Fig. 2 (not shown). Cuts 8, 9, Fig. 1, may be provided to form gaps around the base of the tray to accommodate the rims of cans &c., which may be placed therein. The filled tray is suitable for enclosing in a shrunk wrapper.
