Abstract

1321976 Cartons IMPERIAL TOBACCO GROUP Ltd 8 June 1972 [9 March 1971] 6328/71 Heading B8P A carton of corrugated fibreboard having end flaps 13 on walls 12 secured by glue to walls 11 of lesser height than walls 12 have a lid formed of a top panel 20 and two walls 21, the walls 21 overlying the lower walls 11. A line of hot melt adhesive 22 secures the lid to top edges 23 of walls 12 and to flaps 13. If several boxes are stacked the walls 21 are longer and extend to cover all the boxes. A strip of adhesive tape (33, Fig. 7, not shown) may pass under the tray base and have its ends overlapping the walls 21. Articles in the tray may be shrink wrapped before the lid is applied, the wrapping does not cover the sides 12.
