1396674 Packaging glass sheets SPIEGELGLASWERKE GERMANIAZWEIGNIEDERLASSUNG DER GLACERIES DE SAINTROCH SA 12 Oct 1973 [14 Oct 1972] 47725/73 Heading B8C A method of packing glass sheets comprises stacking the sheets on two flat cardboard blanks 6, 7, folding the blanks to form a carton about the sheets, arranging a bottom board 17 about the bottom 18 of the carton, placing U-shaped foot members 19, 20 over the board 17 and carton bottom, and drawing straps tightly over the members 19, 20 and cartons. The straps pass along grooves 23, 24 in the members and over layers of corrugated paper at the top of the carton. Foamed polystyrene strips are posi tioned inside the carton on either side of the glass sheets in alignment with the members 19 20. The glass sheets are packaged on a frame 1 pivotable about points 4 so that the carton can be moved into a vertical position. Corru gated cardboard or foamed polystyrene strips or layers may be placed between the individual glass sheets.
