Abstract

1285245 Packaging material MACMILLAN BLOEDEL CONTAINERS Ltd 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 5700/70 Heading B6G [Also in Division B8] A packaging material comprises paper, plain or corrugated cardboard or fibreboard sheet material 1 having pieces 2 of foamed plastics material adhesively secured to at least one face of the sheet material. The packaging material may be produced by applying adhesive over areas of the sheet material and depositing the pieces of foamed plastics material either by hand or by mechanical means on haphazard manner or to form a pattern. The corrugated cardboard may be single-faced or double-faced. The packaging material may be used in sheet form, alternatively it may be used for the production of pre-formed blanks for the construction of collapsible containers e.g. cartons, containers or trays. Fig. 1 shows a fragment of such a blank having a score-line 3 about which it can be folded.
