Abstract

The punnet is made from a waxed cardboard blank which has long and short side panels (3-6) hinged to a base. The long side panels (3, 4) have flaps (11) which are folded round and glued to the short side panels (5, 6) after erection. The top edges of the punnet have a wavy contour for aesthetic reasons. The wave form is regular, and a half step difference between opposite side panels is produced during cutting of blanks from a sheet (9) adjacent panels of adjacent blanks being separated by common cut lines which produce little wastage of material during cutting of the blanks.
