Abstract

1,210,502. Laminated packaging material. MACMILLAN BLOEDEL CONTAINERS Ltd. 13 Oct., 1967 [14 July, 1966], No. 29324/69. Divided out of 1,210,501. Heading B5N. Packaging material is produced by forming a corrugated plastics material, applying to one or each side of it a paper, cardboard or fibreboard liner and heating the composite to cure the plastics material. The plastics material, which is preferably polyurethane or polystyrene, may be applied by a nozzle 23 to one of a pair of corrugating rollers 24, 25, from which it is stripped as a corrugated sheet 21. Adhesive may be applied to the crests of the sheet 21 by applicators 33, 38, and upper and lower webs 32, 37 of paper, cardboard or fibreboard are applied by belts 31, 36, the composite being supported by a corrugated belt 27 and a further belt 35 respectively. Heaters 34, 39 cure the plastics.
