Abstract
1,094,166. Corrugated paper-boards. FRIEDRICH MULLER KOMM.-GES. March 17, 1966, No. 11755/66. Heading B5N. [Also in Division D1] Corrugated board is produced from a web 1 of sheet material, e.g. paper, plastics material, textile fabric or leather, by feeding the web 1 between a pair of feed rollers 2 at a first predetermined speed, passing the web 1 between a pair of parallel conveyer belts 6, spaced from the rollers 2 in the direction of movement of the web 1, at a second predetermined speed lower the first speed to corrugate the web 1, applying adhesive to the crests of the corrugations on at least one side of the web 1, and feeding a covering web 9 to at least one side of the web 1 between the latter and the belts 6 to cause the web 9 to adhere to the corrugations and to hold them under compression. After passing between the rollers 2, each provided with radial incisions, the web 1 passes between parallel sheet-metal guide plates 3 which are partially overlapped by parallel limiting metal plates 4 which are vertically adjustable to the desired height of the corrugations of the web 1. Pivotally-mounted glueing rollers 8, each provided with radial incisions, project into apertures 7 in the plates 4 to apply glue to the crests of the corrugations. The speeds of the belts 6 and the rollers 2, 8 are adjustable in stepped or infinitely variable manner. To produce corrugations lying obliquely to the direction of movement of the web 1, the rollers 2 and the plates 3 are arranged in the same direction with respect to the oblique position of the corrugations to be formed, but less obliquely, Fig. 3 (not shown).
