Abstract

375,058. Packing foodstuffs. NORDBY, E., Hamar, Norway. June 4, 1931, No. 16250. Convention date, June 12, 1930. [Class 94 (i).] Material for packing foodstuffs comprises an inner layer of thin material such as parchment, cellulosic material, &c., and in external layer of heavy paper, cardboard, or the like to provide the necessary rigidity. The materials are fed together, the cardboard &c. having strips of adhesive 24, 25, Fig. 2, are severed into blanks and are creased along the lines indicated to form panels 1 .. 23. The article is placed on the panel 22 and the blank, without notching, is folded about the creases to envelop it. A sheet 26 of adhesive paper is applied to the side where the panels 10, 20 meet, and the ends are covered with similar sheets 29 which are folded down about the side edges. The package is then coated with liquid wax by spraying.
