Abstract
1305623 Coffins R T WALDING 26 July 1971 [28 July 1970] 36401/70 Heading B8P [Also in Division A5] A blank for a coffin has base, sides and ends secured to a kraft backing sheet 1 subsequently trimmed to the dotted lines shown in Fig. 1, the backing overlapping the edges of the sides and ends and a double thickness 14 of kraft paper reinforcing the end walls 4. The panels may be of three thicknesses of corrugated waterproofed cardboard or may be of fibreboard or similar material. The abutting edges of the panels are adhesively secured together. Strips of webbing 15 of nylon or fibre glass are stuck to the panels and are also joined to backing strips 20 to which handles are secured. Wooden fillets 17 are secured to the edges which will form the upper edges of the erected coffin and are used to secure the lining. The lid may also be of corrugated material. Wooden fillets may be interposed between the base and side walls as disclosed in Specification 1,291,836.
