Abstract

L'invention a trait au domaine des huiles lubrifiantes. Elle concerne une composition d'huile lubrifiante, caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend une quantité dominante d'huile minérale de viscosité propre à la lubrification et une quantité, améliorant l'indice de viscosité, d'un copolymère éthylénique saturé soluble dans l'huile ayant une teneur en éthylène de 26 à 79 % en poids (35 à 85 moles %) et une alpha-oléfine supérieure en C3 à C18 , ainsi qu'une proportion de 0,05 à 3,0 % en poids de 2,5-norbornadiène, ce copolymère éthylénique ayant une moyenne en nombre du poids moléculaire Mn d'au moins 5 000 et une capacité d'épaississement dans la plage de 1,0 à 3 comparativement à un polyisobutylène ayant une moyenne en viscosité du poids moléculaire Mv de 20 000. Elle concerne en outre le copolymère éthylénique saturé incorporé à cette composition.
