Abstract
Procédé perfectionné pour former une pièce de verre contenant un additif. On forme une poudre fine de verre fondu par réaction en phase vapeur, à partir d'un composé du silicium et éventuellement, d'un additif, on soumet la poudre à un frittage partiel en atmosphère de gaz inerte ou sous vide qui la transforme en un corps de verre poreux; on immerge ce dernier dans une solution d'un additif provoquant la déposition de ce dernier dans les pores du verre, on seche le verre poreux sous vide, puis on provoque le ramollissement et la disparition des pores par chauffage sous vide, en atmosphère d'oxygène anhydre ou de gaz inerte anhydre. Les pièces de verre selon l'invention servent principalement à la fabrication de fibres optiques par filage.
