PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA ELIMINACION DE COMPUESTOS SULFUROSOS GASEOSOS SULFUROSOS, EN ESPECIAL DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE, DE GASES DE COMBUSTION DE HORNOS QUE QUEMAN COMBUSTIBLES SULFURADOS. CONSISTE EN LA ADICION DE UN HIDROXIDO ALCALINO O ALCALINOTERREO AL COMBUSTIBLE (EN EL INTERIOR DEL HORNO) O A LOS GASES DE COMBUSTION, SEGUIDA DE LA INYECCION DE AGUA, VAPOR O AMBOS A 90-200JC, CON LO QUE SE OBTIENE UN SULFATO ALCALINO O ALCALINOTERREO, QUE SE SEPARA DE LOS GASES. EL HIDROXIDO SE SUMINISTRA EN EXCESO CON RESPECTO A LA CANTIDAD ESTEQUIOMETRICA CORRESPONDIENTE AL CONTENIDO EN AZUFRE DE LOS GASES DE COMBUSTION Y SUELE SER HIDROXIDO CALCICO O UNA MEZCLA DE ESTE CON HIDROXIDO MAGNESICO. SE EMPLEA EN HORNOS QUE QUEMAN PETROLEO O CARBON.
