SE HACE REACCIONAR UN ACIDO B-HIDROXIALCANOICO OPTICAMENTE ACTIVO, FORMULA (II), CON UN REACTIVO DE HALOGENACION, COMO CLORURO O BROMURO DE TIONILO, EN PRESENCIA DE UNA AMINA ORGANICA COMO CATALIZADOR. EL HALURO DE B-HALOALCANOILO SE TRATA CON UN AMINOACIDO DE FORMULA (III) EN UN MEDIO ALCALINO. SE HACE REACCIONAR EL PRODUCTO CON UN REACTIVO ALCALINO CAPAZ DE CONVERTIR EL HALOGENO EN GRUPO TIOL.
