Abstract

A pourer, preferably plastics, comprises a tubular body 2 having a pouring lip 20 and adapted, e.g. by groove 4, to fit in or around a container aperture, the body carrying a plastics or metal member 22 including a septum 28 defining a liquid passage and an air inlet 32, and being sealed by a closure 6 including a tubular plug 11 secured to the body by a thin membrane 8 which shears when pressure is applied to force the plug into the body, permitting the closure to be then used in the normal way. A plastics circlip 14 prevents unintentional shearing of membrane 8.
